Straightedge (ruler) and compass construction is as old as the widespread practise of marking out simple forms and measures on the Earth just with pegs and chords. The Ancient Greeks, who laid the foundation for geometry, used a graphical approach to solve mathematical problems instead of arithmetic. With the invention of the drawing compass by Galileo Galilei, we have now the tools to step into the footsteps of those ancient minds and explore shape and form just from a circle and line.
This free mini course is for those beginners who are new to compass construction. And even if you think you are good with it, you may learn a thing or two to easily master the practical study of geometry as a visual tool to grasp the world.
